Cancellation

We require 24 Hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment, otherwise full fees apply. Messages can be left at 613-724-4747. In case of emergencies and illness, exceptions to the policy can be made at the discretion of Metta Massage & Yoga Clinic.

Cell Phones

We suggest you turn off your cell phone before your appointment begins.

Client Confidentiality

All staff at Metta Massage & Yoga Clinic respect client confidentiality. When you provide personal information to us, we will not communicate and/or disclose it to third parties for any purpose. Additionally, client lists and email lists are kept confidential. See also "Privacy Policy" below.

Combo Packages & Memberships

We offer 2 different monthly plans- one that combines massage with Therapeutic Yoga, and one that combines massage with Wellness Yoga. The day you begin your package will be the billing date for your subsequent months on the plan which are set up to be automatically charged from your credit card. You can suspend your plan for up to 2 months during the 12 months of the plan, and you can terminate the plan with 30 days notice. Metta's Combo Package and Membership prices are subject to change and do not include taxes. Special Packages such as the Prenatal Massage & Yoga Package are sold as Gift Certificate Packages and are subject to the same rules as other gift certificate sales. Applicable taxes will be applied to prices at the point of sale.

We make every effort to put you at ease and make your experience at Metta Massage a wonderful one, however if you have any concerns please let us know in person or by sending an email to info@mettamassage.com. Also see "Ethics".

Ethics

As Registered Massage Therapists, the practitioners at Metta Massage & Yoga Clinic adhere to the ethics guidelines outlined by The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. As a client you have the right to question the therapy you are receiving and to stop a session at any time. Any requests for inappropriate services will cause immediate termination of the massage. Both therapist and clients are required to follow proper hygiene etiquette.

Direct Billing or 3rd Party Billing

Clients receiving treatment for motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), Workers Compensation or other claims may arrange direct billing to the insurer. If the payment is not received within 30 days, the client will be responsible for charges.

Disrobing for Session

Partial or full disrobing is recommended for your massage session. We create a very safe environment and give great attention to proper draping. Feel free to speak with your therapist if you have any questions or concerns.

First Time Appointments

New patient appointments are 1 hr in length. Your therapist will go over your heath history with you to ensure safe and effective treatment. There will be an assessment prior to treatment that will include orthopedic testing. Assessment time varies according to the needs of the individual but usually takes no more than 10 minutes.

Gratuities

Our prices do not include taxes or gratuities. In appreciation of our outstanding service, gratuities may be offered at your own discretion. Gift certificates and insurance receipts do not include gratuities.

Gift Certificates

Gift Certificates are non-refundable. Your certificate will show an expiry date of year from the date of purchase. This expiry date can be extended indefinitely. If your certificate is about to expire, please notify us and we will adjust the date.

In the case that you do not use the full amount of your gift certificate at the time of your visit, the remainder of the value will be placed on your account with Metta Massage & Yoga Clinic. We do not issue cash for any remaining amount.

Gift Certificates & Receipts

When using a gift certificate as payment for massage, in alignment with the provisions as laid out by the College of Massage Therapists, we are unable to provide a receipt for insurance. An insurance receipt can be issued, however, for any amount owing above and beyond the gift certificate amount.

Health History Intake Form

To ensure safe, customized sessions, the client must fill out a health intake form before treatment upon first visitation as a new client and updated yearly. It is the client's responsibility to relay all health information so the therapist can modify the treatment plan where necessary.

Insurance Receipts

We will provide you with appropriate documentation for making an insurance claim after you have paid for each massage treatment, provided you are not paying with a gift certificate.

Insurance receipts will cover only the amount owing for treatment and will not include gratuities.

Insurance receipts are issued according to the guidelines of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and are given only in the name of the person receiving the treatment for the date of the actual treatment.

Late Arrivals

We request that you arrive punctually for your appointment. If you arrive late for your appointment, the remainder of your appointment time will be used to its best advantage. The session will end at the time scheduled and the full cost of the session is expected.

Noise Policy

We ask clients to speak softly in the reception area and hallway and that all cellular phones and beepers be turned off during your visit.

On-Line Sales Policy

By using Metta's website for online sales, you accept and agree to be bound by and comply with the terms below. Please do not make purchases online if you do not accept the terms.

All products and services of Metta Massage & Yoga Clinic are subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable agreements governing their use.

The terms are to be read by you together with any terms, conditions or disclaimers provided in the pages of this site. In the event of any conflict, the terms provided in the pages of this site will govern.

Payment for Products & Services
All Credit Cards will be processed in Canadian Dollar at the time of payment. Metta Massage & Yoga Clinic is not responsible for any fees, charges, exchange rates or additional charges levied by individual financial institutions or Credit Card companies.

Refunds
We do not offer refunds on products and services sold on line however, credit can be offered based on the conditions of the service originally purchased.

Gift Certificates Purchased Online
Gift certificates purchased online may be printed by the purchaser on their home computer system or mailed to the purchaser. All gift certificates are in Canadian dollars. Gift certificates are non-refundable. Any unused portion of the gift certificate remains on the client's account.

Privacy Policy

January 1, 2004, all organizations engaged in commercial activities must comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, which grants rights concerning the privacy of your personal information. Reminder Calls

To serve you best, we offer a telephone courtesy reminder call service two business days prior to your appointment. Should you wish to opt-out of our reminder call service, we will gladly note this on your file, simply inform our client care representative.

Scents

Please avoid wearing scented products (perfume, aftershave) to your massage session, as some clients are scent-sensitive.

Sickness Policy

Metta Massage & Yoga Clinic recognizes that both massage therapists and clients are vulnerable to infections and therefore asks clients to cancel appointments when they are feeling unwell. In the event that your RMT is unwell, we will do our best to notify you in a timely fashion to either switch your appointment to another of our skilled RMT's or to reschedule. This is to protect the health of both the client and the therapist.
